UC Presidential Postdoctoral Fellowship and UC Chancellors Postdoctoral Fellowship Q&A Session2/11/2023 We had an informative Q&A session (in person and Zoom) about these fellowships. We got to know useful information and advice from current fellows form different UC campuses. Thank you to everyone who attended!

We held our second in-person social at Dunlow Brewery in Downtown Davis with Science Says! We had a good time talking, playing board games and meeting new people. We raffled two gift basket prizes. The winners and prizes are pictured above! Thank you to all those who attended!
We held our first in-person social at Dunlow Brewery in Downtown Davis with Science Says! We had a fantastic turnout with over 20 people in attendance! We raffled three gift basket prizes (a science-themed mug basket with candy & soap, a Dunlow gift card, and a gem-painting basket with a Science Says T-shirt. The winners are pictured above!
Thank you to all those who attended! Two scientists from Cytokinetics, a biotech company in the Bay area, gave an overview of their new summer internship program. They discussed expectations of interns and answered questions that the audience had.
Our two SACNAS chapters representing UC Davis at the NDiSTEM conference in San Juan, Puerto Rico! There were amazing keynotes presentations, scientific presentations, workshops, and social events. We also had the chance to explore the beautiful area of San Juan!
Our chapter wanted a space on campus for folks to celebrate their loved ones who have passed on. To honor our ancestors, we set up a community altar in the Graduate Center on campus. This was on display for an entire week surrounding Dia de los Muertos (October 31st - November 4th). Anyone could add photos or items for their family members here. Pictured above is the altar on November 4th.
Dr. Anna La Torre, our faculty advisor, kick started the Fall quarter by giving a presentation on how to give a chalk talk! Dr. La Torre gave her first chalk talk when interviewing for faculty positions, and is now ensuring that our members are more prepared than she was. Dr. La Torre gave us an in-depth break down of what a chalk talk is, how to prepare and ended the workshop by giving an example chalk talk.
