RSVP Here The goal of this event is for students and staff to learn about the local flora and the historical uses of these plants by indigenous communities. This seminar is intended for graduate students and postdoctoral scholars of all backgrounds, with special emphasis on sharing and celebrating local Native culture and scientific knowledge. We are welcoming two speakers, Diana Almendariz, an experienced speaker who has a long history of giving invaluable information regarding the natural Sacramento environment: from individuals to universities and even to the state of California, Diana and her family have worked to preserve and share the knowledge of the Maidu/Wintun and Hupa/Yurok peoples. Our second speaker is Assistant Nursery Manager, Abbey Hart, educate attendees on how to best care for the newly potted plants and provide additional horticultural insight. Participants will take home a potted plant! |

From our K-8 outreach program!
Starting February, we will be working with Prairie Elementary in Woodland, CA to provide fun sessions once a week for 8 weeks with 4th and 5th grade students.
